Real Green GRASS!!!!!!
Having lived in Tokyo for a good few years now, I’ve sort of got used to the concrete metropolis that it is. There are large parks where you can while away an afternoon in an oasis of green, however due to a large population and high land prices you generally find the closer you are to the city centre, the less green spaces you will see. Around my neighbourhood there are a few tiny parks for kids to play, but there is no grass, just swings, slides, a tree or two, some shrubs and then more concrete. So today as I strolled along, taking a different route to the station I came upon the above, it was a revelation REAL GREEN GRASS!!!!!! probably no bigger than a few meters square and yet in the sunshine I wanted to sit there and have a picnic, I wanted to be barefoot and feel the green grass between my toes! But seeing as it’s someones private property I took this picture instead and walked on with a smile on my face and a skip in my step. The moral of the story if there is one, is don’t underestimate the colour GREEN.
